Known to Italian audiences already for roles in homegrown films such as The Fifth Wheel and Someone Beautiful, as well as comedy TV series Fuoriclasse, up and coming actress Matilda Lutz has secured what promises to be her breakthrough role in the reboot of horror film The Ring.

The 22 year old Milan born star will be directed by F Javier Gutierrez in Paramount's English-language version of the 2002 horror film, which starred Naomi Watts and was based on a Japanese trilogy about a videotape that causes anyone who watches it to die seven days later. The new version will simply be titled Rings and is set for release in November 2016.
